Barron Manager
Ava Pegg-Davies
Ava is a fourth year Film and Anthropology student who is excited to be Barron Manager after two years as the Deputy!
Starting off in performance and technical theatre, Ava now works as a Creative Producer and freelance youth theatre facilitator on the side. She has done a bit of everything… so if you have any Barron-related questions - literally any questions about the Barron, feel free to email

Elise Siddiqui
Elise's is a fourth year English student who first got involved with student theatre when she directed Carrie: The Musical in her first year. Since then she's developed a particular passion for plays that are literary adaptations (or involve copious amounts of fake blood). She is excited to oversee scehduling for Mermaids and the Barron, despite the role's lack of bookishness and bloodiness!

Addie Silva
Addie is a second year student studying English and Classical Studies. As a lifelong fan of the Dewey Decimal System, Addie is excited to be this year’s Barron librarian and put her former bookstore employee skills to good use.

Zoe Nickson
Zoe is a third year Computer Science student who probably spends far too much time inside the theatre. She has done everything from scanning tickets to lighting shows so if you have any issues at all, whether that be how to make this light work or how to get your massive set piece to the top floor of the Byre, let her know at mjn6@st-andrews.ac.uk
Barron Technical Officer
Florencia Curchitster
Florencia is a 2nd year student studying Philosophy and Social Anthropology. In any theatre you can usually find her in the wood-shop, crawling around the catwalks or blinding people with her lights. She looks forward to assisting productions in the Barron, teaching workshops and helping to make technical theatre more accessible.

Wellbeing Officer
Abigail Harper
Abigail is a fourth year student, studying a joint degree in English and film studies. Having been engrossed in theatre classes from the age of four it has now stemmed into a lifelong passion she hopes to pursue with a career in theatre direction. Having been an actor and now director, she hopes her ability to communicate with different theatric roles on and offstage will make her well suited for the role of Barron wellbeing officer.

Nina Brook-Lloyd
Nina is a fourth year Ancient History and Social Anthropology student and is very excited to be working with the Barron team to promote student theatre and new writing in St Andrews.
President of Mermaids
Helena Rothery
Helena is currently a 4th year studying Maths alongside being Mermaids’ President! She has been involved in the performing arts at St Andrews since her first year and during her time has acted, choreographed and held multiple positions on Mermaids’ committee and subcommittees. She’s really excited about everything the Barron has in store this year, and looks forward to supporting both Mermaids-funded and independent shows to achieve their incredible visions!

Vice President of Mermaids
Lara Hickman
Lara is a third-year Geography student who is thrilled to be sitting on the Barron Subcommittee this year. Having been involved in theatre productions since the age of 7, she “accidentally” stumbled her way into technical theatre at University and has never looked back! Despite denying she’s not one of THOSE techies, Lara just loves the pretty lights in the Barron and is enamoured by any space that has truss on show.

WANT TO JOIN COMMITTEE NEXT YEAR?
Application for the '25-'26 Barron subcommittee has closed. However, '26-'27 Barron subcommittee applications will open in summer 2026! Barron committee positions are all done through interview, any matriculated University of St Andrews student for the '26-'27 academic year can apply.
